Carla Ann Bourne, 72, of 612 Frederick Street, Bluefield, WV passed away on April 4, 2023 at Princeton Hospital after a long fought battle with Kidney disease.

Carla was the only child of Robert and Maxine Lewis Caldwell. She grew up in Bluefield and graduated from Bluefield High School. Her working career included being a telephone operator at GTE Telephone Company, desk clerk at area motels, housekeeper and nanny for several years. Carla loved shopping and looked forward to the start of yearly yard sales. She had an eye for collectable glassware and antiques. She enjoyed cooking shows, Antique Roadshow and American Pickers. Carla loved flowers and enjoyed working in her flower bed. She loved traveling, especially to the beach.

Along with her parents, Carla was preceded in death by previous husband and friend, Fred Bourne.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons: Brian and Lori Caldwell of Abbs Valley, Adam and Melissa Bourne of Bluefield, WV and Jason Bourne and Rebekah Morris of Bluefield, WV; daughter: Amanda Williams of Alabama. Grandchildren: Brittany Caldwell, Tiffany Caldwell, RJ Bourne, Santana Bourne, Faith Rasi, Tessa Bourne, Gavin Crawford, Paige Slaughter, Erin Kelley, Michael Brinkley, Kaylyn Bourne, Nick Sabo, Matt Sabo and Bradley Sabo. Great grandchildren: Trenton Rasi, Eli Wallace, Georgia Lambert, Kooper Kelley, Kanon Slaughter, Jasmine Slaughter and Bentley Lambert. Stepmother: Shirley Caldwell and former daughter-in-law Heather Workman. She leaves behind many cousins and friends too numerous to mention.

Services will be Monday, April 10, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, VA with David Kirby officiating. Friends may call Monday April 10, 2023 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, VA. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Princeton, WV.

Pallbearers are: Grandsons and Grandsons-in-law Richie Lambert, Klint Kelley, RJ Bourne, C. Wallace, Marcus Barksdale, Gavin Crawford, Cody Slaughter, Anthony Kelley and Michael Brinkley.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sekkarie and the staff for all the care given to Carla the last 14 years and also the Princeton Hospital CCU for the care and support shown to Carla and the family and our friend Karen Carter for everything.
