BLAND, Va. -- Billy Howard Gillespie, age 84, of Bland, VA, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at his residence. He was born November 11, 1931 to the late Roscoe H. and Myrtle Steele Gillespie.
Billy loved his family and his church and also was very community minded.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy R. Gillespie; son, Ike Gillespie; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Highland Bland Funeral Chapel with Reverend Doug Hyndrich officiating. The family requests that no flowers be sent but that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to Medi Home Health & Hospice, 319 N. Washington Ave., Pulaski, VA 24301.
