Bluefield, VA - Billie Ina Elmore Owensby, 96, born in Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully at home July 17th in Bluefield VA.
Billie married her soulmate Roger H. Owensby Sr. in 1948. She was the mother to five children and worked at Bluefield Regional Medical Center as a nurse's aide and transcription secretary for many years. She and her husband enjoyed bowling and Bluefield baseball games.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, infant daughter, two brothers, two sisters, a daughter in law and a son in law.
She is survived by her children, Sheila Lambert of Rocky Gap, VA, Roger Owensby Jr. of Bluefield, WV. Ruth Evans and husband Paul of Villa Rica, GA, Richard Owensby and wife Sheila of Bluefield VA and daughter Lynn Ratliff and husband Darrel of Monroe, NC. She is grandmother to 10, great grandmother to 7 and great great grandmother to 5.
Funeral Services will be Friday, July 25th at 1pm, with visitation from 12 to 1pm at Dudley Memorial Mortuary in Bluefield Va.
