Glen Lyn, VA - GLEN LYN, VA - Betsy M. Holdren, age 98, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025, and went to be with her father and mother.

She was born in Glen Lyn, VA, on October 9, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Rheudney and Patsy Holdren.

Betsy was of the Methodist faith. She graduated from Glen Lyn High School in 1945. After attending business college, she went to work in the coal office

at Appalachian Power Company in Glen Lyn. After forty years of service, she retired as stores supervisor.

Her hobby was attending flea markets and yard sales. She also spent many hours at cemeteries collecting information for her genealogy study.

In addition to her parents, Betsy was preceded in death by her uncle, Kenneth Holdren who made his home with her family.

She is survived by several cousins and two very special friends, Earnest and Brenda Combs.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, VA. Those wishing to attend the services may meet at the cemetery by 1:00 PM.
