Barbara Deeds Obituary

Barbara Ruth McKenzie Deeds, 84, of Lerona, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 peacefully at her home with her daughters by her side.

Barbara was born September 16, 1939, in Princeton WV to the late R.B. and Barbara (Whitt) McKenzie. She was married to the late Robert A. "Bob" Deeds on January 12, 1963. Barbara was raised in Elgood during her childhood and was a 1957 graduate of Athens High School. She then went on to graduate from the Northwest Institute of Technology in September 1958.

She was a member of the Williamsburg CEO's since 2010 and retired from Greenbrier Valley Hospital as a Laboratory Technician with over 40 years of service.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Deeds; one sister, JoAnn Sells, and son-in-law, Chuck Westfall.

Those left to cherish her memory include; two daughters, Kay Westfall, Kim Hawkins and husband John; four granddaughters, Danielle Thompson, Samantha Hawkins, Jessica Williams, and Kristin Hawkins; five great grandsons, James Allen Williams, Mason Williams, Emmett Laudermilk, Everett Batista, and Oliver Williams; bonus granddaughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At Barbara's request there will be no services and her body has been cremated.

Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton.
