Bluefield, VA - B. Louise Melcher, of Bluefield, VA, died Monday, January 5, 2026, at her home.

Born May 5, 1944, in Bluefield, VA, she was the daughter of the late Claude Holbrook and Mary Sue Paine Holbrook.

Mrs. Melcher grew up on a farm, was a graduate of Graham High School, and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Bluefield, VA. She had worked as a Secretary for Limestone Dust Corporation and Coal Fillers, both in Bluefield, VA.

She loved fashion, clothes and shoes and had a tender heart for cats.

Survivors include her loving husband, Roy Edward "Eddie" Melcher of Bluefield, VA.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Bill Lykin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 until the service hour.

Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA, where family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request that memorial contributions, if desired, be made in Mrs. Melcher's name to a charity that benefits animals.
