Abraham Lincoln Lester, age 84 of Hurley, Virginia passed away Thursday October 3, 2019, at the Clinch Valley Medical Center, Richlands, Virginia.

Born May 3, 1935, in Buchanan County Virginia, he was the son of the late Oscar William Lester and Pearl Ferrell Lester Matney. He was a retired coal miner and was a member of the Blackey Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and flea marketing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Lester; three brothers, Charles Edward, Jimmy Earl, and Ira Lester; one son, Christopher Lincoln Lester.

Survivors include: One daughter Tabatha Lynn Delp and husband Gregory Scott of Elk Creek, Virginia. Grandchildren Tyler Scott Delp and Jacob Michael Delp. Six Brothers Junior Lester and wife Nettie of Lincolnton, North Carolina, Vester "Cotton" Lester and wife Patty of Pilgrim's Knob, Virginia, Henry Matney and wife Carol of Hurley, Virginia, C. B. Lester of Bartley, West Virginia, Jack Lester and wife Mary of Pipestem, West Virginia, Brooks Lester and wife Susie of North Carolina. Seven Sisters Synthia Asbury of Canebrake, West Virginia, Mildred Lester of Tazewell, Virginia, Martha Ratliff and husband Wallace of Wolford, Virginia, Gladys Cunningham and husband Dennis of Hurley, Virginia, Angeline Glick and husband Marshall of Atkins, Virginia, Ethel Kaboski and husband Brooks of Bartley, West Virginia, Charlene Wagner of North Carolina. A Special Close Friend Ida Marshall of Garden Creek, Virginia.

Funeral services for Abraham Lincoln Lester will be held on Monday, October 7, 2019, 1:00 P.M. at the Virginia Funeral Home Chapel, Grundy, Virginia. The burial will follow in the Lester Cemetery, Paynesville, West Virginia.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening at the Virginia Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M to 9:00 P.M.
