William M.'s Story
PRINCETON — William M. "Bill" Bridges, 68, of Princeton, died Saturday, December 31, 2016, at the Springfield Center in Lindside, WV. Born July 19, 1948, in Princeton he was the son of the late Alvin Matthew Bridges and Mary Jo Trapasso Bridges.
Bill was a 1966 graduate of Princeton High School and received an Electrical Engineering degree from Bluefield State College. He was the owner and operator of several businesses throughout his life including a bait business in Florida and Rainbow in Christiansburg, VA. He was a devoted member of Princeton Elks Lodge #1459 where he served as past Exalted Ruler. He formerly coached Little League Football and was an avid sports fan.
Bill had been a resident of Princeton for the past 16 years, moving here from Interlachen, Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Ann Bridges.
Survivors include one daughter, Tina Bridges of Princeton; one son, Shannon Bridges and companion Joyce Sargent of Princeton; three grandchildren, Savannah Nicole Bridges and fiance' Austin Hamb, Mackenzie Leeann Bridges, and Jacob Hunter Coleman; one great-granddaughter, Paislee Nicole Hamb; one sister, Deborah Lynn Worley and husband John of Princeton; one niece, Sara Thompson and husband Colton; and one nephew, Wes Worley and wife Missy.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Rob Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour Tuesday at the funeral home.
