Wanda Gay Farmer, 69 of Princeton, WV died Friday, May 19, 2017, at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born in Oak Hill, WV on February 17, 1948, she was the daughter of Celia Warren Williams of Oak Hill and the late Robert "Phil" Williams. After graduating from Fayetteville High School in 1966, Wanda worked for G.C. Murphy in Montgomery, WV and then for C and P Telephone Company in Charleston, WV.
In 1971, Wanda was married and lived briefly in Mullens, WV and Corinne, WV. She and her husband then settled in Princeton, WV where Wanda raised her children and showed her selfless spirit to family, friends, and members of her church with unconditional kindness and love. She was a faithful attendee of the First United Methodist Church in Princeton.
Wanda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always put the needs of her family and others ahead of her own. She will be missed by her family and friends. We are all blessed to have had her in our lives.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband of 46 years, Harry Clayton Farmer, Sr. of Princeton; two children, Harry Clayton Farmer, Jr. and wife Lesley of Troy, VA and Jill Marie Bach and husband Josh of Hurricane, WV; five grandchildren, Sam Farmer, Keaton Farmer, Landen Bach, Holly Bach, and Calleigh Bach; two sisters, Alice Kisor and husband George of Lesage, WV and Amy Fish and husband Tim of Kitty Hawk, NC; one brother, Terry Williams and wife Sandy of Oak Hill, WV.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Wanda will be conducted 12:00 Noon Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Scott Sears and Pastor Richard Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Highlawn Memorial Gardens in Oak Hill, WV at 2:30 PM.
Friends may call at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton from 11:00 AM to the service hour on Tuesday.
