Walter Edward's Story
OAKVALE — Walter Edward "Eddie" Booth, 82, of Cheesy Creek Road, Oakvale died Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born January 10, 1935 in Glen Lyn, VA he was the son of the late Oscar Booth and Ruth Greer Booth Johnson. Eddie was devoted to his family and loved spending time with them. He enjoyed gardening and bird watching and kept bird feeders filled throughout his yard. Eddie spent most of his life in the Cheesy Creek area residing in the home he built for his family. He was of the Christian faith and was a retired self employed Electrician. Eddie leaves behind his wife of fifty years, Mildred Bowles Booth of Cheesy Creek; son, Oscar Booth of Cheesy Creek, son, Robert Booth and wife Susan of Lenoir, NC, Keith Crowe of Cherokee, NC; grandchildren, Kari Bennett and husband Justin of Pipestem, Ashley Booth and Sean Booth both of Maiden, NC, Brandon Booth of Oakvale, McKenna, Hagan, and Laci McMinn of Lenoir, NC, Kenny Crowe of Texas, Tonya Smithey and husband Mark and Amber Morris and husband Courtland all of Ardmore, OK; great grandchildren, McKenzie Bennett, Payton Bennett and Cameryn Naley; sisters, Della Belcher and husband Bob of Nadeau, MI, Brenda Berger and husband Jerry of Des Plaines, IL, and Betty Wyatt of Streator, IL. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the G.E. Davis Chapel of Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale with Pastor Jim Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at the New Zion Cemetery, Cheesy Creek Road, Oakvale. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 15, 2017 (today).
