Virginia Naydell's Story
BAPTIST VALLEY, Va. — Virginia Naydell "Jean" Stilwell, age 83 of Baptist Valley, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 at her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Tazewell County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Squire W. "S.W." Stilwell and Rosa Kansas Chambers Stilwell. She was a graduate of Richlands High School Class of 1953, the Clinch Valley Clinic Nursing School and worked there for 36 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. Jean attended the Family Worship Center of North Tazewell and was a lifelong resident of the area.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by, her brothers, James Melvin Stilwell, Dolphus "Dolf" Stilwell, sister in law, Nancy Stilwell and daughter in law, Patricia Ann Stilwell.
She is survived by: Her son, Michael Wayne Stilwell of N. Tazewell, VA; Sisters, Evelyn Trudell Stilwell of N. Tazewell, VA, Wilma J. Harman and husband Lindsey of N. Tazewell, VA; Sister-in-law, Pauline Stilwell of N. Tazewell, VA; Grandson, Tyler Clint Stilwell of Norton, VA; Special Great Niece, Rosalyn Nicole Wix and several nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm on Tuesday (today), March 21, 2017 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, with the Rev. Barry Absher and Rev. Lawrence Hayes officiating. Entombment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Tony Stilwell, John Stilwell, Tyler Stilwell, Mike Elkins, Harley White, Harold Elkins, Bill Messick and Darrel Wix. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Hodges, Clinton Hess and Calvin Patton.
The family received friends at 6:00pm on Monday evening at the Funeral Home.
