LINDSIDE — Virginia Ball "Teenie" Broyles, 98, of Lindside, WV, passed away on Saturday, March, 11, 2017, at Country View Assisted Living in Peterstown, WV. Born August 6, 1918, at Keystone, WV, she was the daughter of the late William and Ervil Ball. Due to the death of Mr. and Mrs. Ball while Teenie was so young, she was raised by the late Hubert and Cynthia Buckland Cunningham. Teenie was a graduate of Peterstown High School and Radford College.
She was employed by the Monroe County Board of Education and taught school in Green Valley, Bozoo, and Peterstown. Along with her husband William S. Broyles, Teenie was instrumental in establishing the William S. Broyles Funeral Home in Peterstown, and was actively involved until William's retirement.
She was a former member of Peterstown United Methodist Church where she was active in the Ellen Ball Circle and the United Methodist Women; she was a member, at the time of her death, of the Lindside United Methodist Church, where she was active in the United Methodist Women. She was a 75-year member of Peterstown Chapter 118 O.E.S., former member of the Peterstown Women's Club, and had been active with the Peterstown High School Alumni Association.
Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, William S. Broyles; one daughter, Cynthia B. Morris and husband Sterl of Lindside, WV; two grandchildren, Whitney Mills and husband Wes and Bane Morris and wife Stephanie, all of Ballard, WV; three great grandchildren, Graycie Morris, Wyatt Mills, and baby Morris who will arriving in May; three nieces and two nephews; and two special daughters, Donna Spitler and Libby Clark. The family would like to thank everyone at Country View Assisted Living for their love and kindness shown to Teenie during her stay there. Teenie will be remembered for her kindness to others and her wonderful sense of humor.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, WV, with Dr. Joe Geiger and Rev. Scott Ingleton officiating. Burial will follow at the Peterstown Cemetery in Giles County, VA.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, March 13, 2017, at the funeral home where a memorial service will be conducted by Peterstown O.E.S. at 7:30 PM.
