ROWE,Va. — Viola Horn Meadows, 90 years of age of Rowe, VA, passed away Tuesday, March, 14, 2017 in Clinch Valley Medical Center. Born October 17, 1926 in Rowe, VA, she was the daughter of the late Henry W. Horn and Bertie Keen Horn.
Viola enjoyed quilting, crocheting, canning, making jelly, spending time with her family and was of the Pentecostal faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and aunt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dewey E. Meadows, brother Edward Horn, sister Thelma Keen, two infant sisters, one great-granddaughter, daughter-in-law Peggy Sue Meadows and son-in-law Reverend James T. Hale.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include her daughter Margaret Hale of Mavisdale, VA; son Roger Meadows and wife Karen of Lebanon, VA; four granddaughters, seven great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service for Viola Horn Meadows will be conducted at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mickey Hale officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA.
Active pallbearers will be her family and friends.
The family will receive friends at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Friday, March 17, 2017 after 6:00 p.m. with evening service to be held at 7:00 p.m.
