ATHENS — Vida Mae White, 93, of Athens died Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at her residence. Born April 5, 1923 in Pettrey, WV she was the daughter of the late James G. Brookman and Norma Gore Brookman.
Vida was a homemaker and the last Charter Member of the Athens Church of Christ in Athens, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Lewis White; one sister, Iva Taylor; two brothers, Odell Brookman and Harold Brookman; and an infant brother.
Survivors include two sons, David White and wife Carolyn of Etowah, TN and Michael White and wife Yvonne of Sparta, MI; four daughters, Peggy Fox of Quinwood, WV, Anita Barilla of Pettrey, WV, Roberta Moye and husband Mark of Hurricane, WV and Shirley Pomeroy of Newton, NC; twelve grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren; one step grandchild; and one great great grandson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Richard Hodges and Pastor Gary Morris officiating. Burial will follow at the Athens Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
