Valentino Sandoval, Jr., 69 of North Tazewell, VA died Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at his home. Born September 7, 1947 at San Jose, CA, he was a son of the late Valentino and Mary Flores Sanchez Sandoval. He was a retired Staff Sergeant, US Marine Corps. Mr. Sandoval served two tours in Viet Nam and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He also retired from the Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer at Bland Correctional Center.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Victor Sandoval.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Sandoval; sons, David W. Sandoval of Orlando, FL and Mark Sandoval and wife, Carol of Wise, VA; daughter, Valerie C. Laney and husband, Jason of North Tazewell, VA; sisters, Rose Marie Bracamonte, Mary Ann Mitchell, Ruby Marie Allen, and Mary Ester Yracheta; ten grandchildren, Isabella Sandoval, Christian Sandoval, Cody Laney, Caden Laney, Brayden Laney, Kyle Sandoval, Brian Sandoval, Hannah Sandoval, Halli Sandoval, and Willow Sandoval.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2 PM Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA where funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM with Pastor Larry Fontaine officiating.
Military graveside rites and interment will be conducted at 1 PM Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Mountain Home National Cemetery at Johnson City, TN.
