NEWTON, N.C. Tammy Lorene Surface, 50, of Newton, NC, formerly of Matoaka, died Wednesday, April 19, 2017 after a long battle with Lou Gehrig Disease. Born February 9, 1967 in Frankfurt, Germany, she was the daughter of Lacy Young and his wife Laura of Beeson and the late Patricia Ann Lawson Wasmer.
Mrs. Surface worked for Baker Furniture Company in North Carolina. She was of the Church of God faith and enjoyed four wheeling and traveling.
Survivors include her husband, Matthew Surface of the home; two sons, Brandon Williams and wife Sarahann of Odd, WV and Justin Williams of Princeton; one brother, Shannon Young and wife Asia of Glenwood; two step-brothers, Azzie Blankenship of Princeton and John Peyton of Lashmeet; and five grandchildren, Jordan, Landen, Tyson, Logan and Nolan.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Gary Raulerson officiating. Interment will follow at the Mills Cemetery in Beeson.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 4-6 p.m. at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
