ROCKY GAP, VA Sue Ann Gobble 67 of 6516 Laurel Fork Road, Rocky Gap, VA went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday June 10, 2017 following a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Born June 21, 1949 in Beaverdale, PA she was a daughter of the late John Michaels and Ethel Law Michaels.
Sue was a member of Dry Fork Baptist Church for 15 years where she also served as secretary for many years. Most of her life she worked as a secretary with the Mercer County Schools. She loved being with her children and grandchildren, enjoying the outdoors, cooking and reading and working in her flower and vegetable gardens.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Larry Michaels and Ted Michaels.
She is survived by her husband David Gobble, a daughter Carey Watters (Barry) of Rocky Gap, VA, a son David Gobble, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Matthews, NC, sisters: Kathy Brown (Dave) of Heartford City, IN, and Gloria Smith of Easton, MD, brothers: Wade Michaels of Huntsville, AL, Tom Michaels (Velda) of Kenova, WV and Earl Michaels (Lynn) of Tampa, FL., Grandchildren: Lindsey, Jacob, Eli and Presley Watters and William and Katherine Gobble.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday June 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor George Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery at Princeton, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be John Michaels, Tim Michaels, Barry Watters, Ed Whittaker, Mike Bailey and Brandon Clemons.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
