Ruby Elaine Grubb, 82 of Elkin, NC and formerly of Bluefield, VA, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Pruitt Nursing Home, in Elkin, NC. Born in Bluefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late Henry Gordon and Laura Virginia Thompson Lambert. She was a member of the Word of Life Church in Elkin, NC. Mrs. Grubb was a homemaker, caregiver, seamstress and truly enjoyed doing for and helping others. She loved flowers and working in her garden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Frazier Grubb, Jr, and grandsons, James Wright, Timothy and Thomas Durham and Jonathan Luffman.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter: Betty Durham and husband, Ricky of Elkin, NC; 4 sons: Thomas Grubb of Edgewater, FL, Michael Grubb and wife, Jean of Bluefield, VA, Freddy Grubb and wife, April of Elkin, NC and Kenneth Grub of Bluefield, VA; sister: Betty Peake and husband, Sonny of Akron, OH; twin brother: Wayne Lambert of Chilhowie, VA; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Grubb's life will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Dudley Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jamie Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Dudley Memorial from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service.
