Ruby Dean's Story

OAKVALE ? Ruby Dean Fulcher Brinkley 80 of Oakvale passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, January 14, 2017 with her two daughters holding her hands as her Heavenly Father welcomed her home.
Ruby was the only daughter born to Benford and Cora Thompson Fulcher on September 13, 1936 at their home on Cheesy Creek. Married on December 28, 1967 to Earl Boyd Brinkley, they made their home in the Coalfields of Kentucky then returning to West Virginia upon Earl's retirement. She was a lifelong member of the Goodwyn's Chapel Church of Christ where she was an active member of the Ladies Circle and was a graduate of Oakvale High School Class of 1955.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Cora, her husband Earl in 1966. Also preceding her were her five brothers, Clarence, Claude and wife Lura, Harold and wife Margaret, June and wife Helen, Boyd and wife Marie and a very special sister in law, Jean Fulcher, the wife of her last surviving sibling, Bill Fulcher of Cheesy Creek.
Ruby was the baby girl and her six older brothers who loved and protected her always.
Survivors include her two daughters, Jackie Sue Stepp Gilbert and husband Rick and Deanna Brinkley Kelly and husband Joey. Four Grandchildren, Jason Stepp, Anglea Stepp, Jay Kelly and wife Sophia, Justin Kelly and Emily. Three Great Grandchildren, Logan and Rylee Stepp and Colby Dawson Kelly. Three very special nieces whom she was raised with like a sister, Dorothy Fulcher Wade, Sylvia Fulcher Sivley and Carol Lee Fulcher; Special friend, Leona Meadows.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 Noon on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from the Chapel of Fredeking Funeral Service, Oakvale with her son in law Rick Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jason Stepp, Jay Kelly, Justin Kelly, Logan Stepp and special family members, Donnie Baker and Gene Keen.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 10:30 AM until the service hour.
