Roswell A.'s Story

Roswell A. "Jack" Gore Jr. 77, of Oliver Avenue, Princeton died peacefully Sunday afternoon, April 9, 2017 at his residence. Born October 21, 1939 in Princeton, he was the son of the late Roswell A. Gore Sr. & Beatrice Marie Calfee Gore. Jack was educated in Princeton and served his country during the Cuban Crisis with the U.S. Navy.
After the service, Jack worked as a pipefitter and was a member of the Pipefitters Union # 491 of Princeton. While his health permitted, Jack loved trout fishing, hunting, working in his garden and watching old westerns with his four legged friend Chloe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Madeline Carol Gore. Those left to cherish his memory, children, Laura Wiley & husband James "Charger" of Athens, Jeannie Burns, Clarence Roberts & wife Bobbie all of Princeton. Grandchildren, Marion Hazelwood, Joshua Roberts, Tristia Roberts, Nicollette Burns, Kierston Gillespie and Jordan Patton. A host of great grandchildren. Two sisters, Janice Brammer & husband Charles Joseph of Richmond VA and Joyce Cox & husband Freddie of Princeton along with a special niece, Melanie Farmer of Princeton.
Services to celebrate the life of Jack Gore will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 13, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Delmar Stilwell officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with military honors given under the direction of the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be, Jamie Farmer, Jordan Patton, Rick Sively, Clarence Dove, Roger Watkins & Charger Wiley.
