Ronald (Ronnie)'s Story

PRINCETON — Ronald (Ronnie) Edward Coleman, 74, of Princeton, died Saturday, February 04, 2017, at Princeton Community Hospital of complications from pneumonia.
Born July 10, 1942, in Rhodell, WV, he was the son of Cecil Coleman of Princeton and the late Charles Edward (Eddie) Coleman. Ronnie received his BS degree from Bluefield State College and completed graduate work at VPI. He worked at the Forest Products Lab for 10 years, then at Compton Construction until his retirement. He was a member of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church in Princeton. He was a member of Princeton Masonic Lodge #134 AF&AM, Knights Templar in Bluefield, WV, and Princeton Elks Lodge #1459. Ronnie enjoyed the outdoors. He worked outside most of his life and loved to fish, hunt with his hunting dogs, and play golf with his Elks buddies. He loved spending time with his family, especially his three grandsons.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Tish Coleman of Princeton; daughters, Amy Coleman Montgomery and husband Dr. Dan Montgomery of Princeton, and Meg Coleman Carpenter and husband Jason Carpenter of Princeton; three grandsons, Caleb Carpenter, Alex and Edward Montgomery; brother, Doug Coleman of Winston-Salem, NC; and sisters, Kathy Coleman, Joyce Coleman, Drema Wright and husband Charlie, and Linda Morgan and husband Al, all of Princeton. In honoring Ronnie's wishes, he has been cremated.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Ronnie will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Reverend John King officiating. Inurnment will follow in Athens Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until the service hour Tuesday at the funeral home.
