JEWELL VALLEY, Va. — Roger Allen Jackson, age 66, of Jewell Valley, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at his home.
Roger was born in Tazewell, Virginia on September 22, 1950 to the late Tut and Lucille Thomas Jackson. He was a graduate of Whitewood High School Class of 1969 and was a former bookkeeper at McCann's Motors. Mr. Jackson was a member of the Friendly Chapel at Smith Ridge and a lifelong resident of the area.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include: Sisters: Frances Meadows and husband, Larry of Richlands, Virginia, Toni Brewster and husband, Garrett of Richlands, Virginia. Brothers: Wayne Jackson of Port Richey, Florida, Michael Jackson of Redford, Michigan. "Little Buddy": Oakley Strouth. Several friends, nieces, and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Roger Allen Jackson will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 7PM at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Reverend Dean Miller officiating. Interment will be held Monday at 1PM at Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Steve Cole, Jordon White, John Altizer, Hunter Clifton, Jeff Horn, and Danny Strouth. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dwight Eads, Kenneth Rasnake, and Gary Smith.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5PM until the time of the service on Sunday evening.
