Robert R.'s Story

On July 30, 2017, Robert R. Blankenship also know by many as "Indian" of Pine Grove Road, Lerona, passed away surrounded by family at his home after a brief illness.
"Indian" was a member of the UMWA as well as a retired Road Captain of the Highland Chapter of the (BOTW) Brothers of the Wheel Motor Cycle Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Blankenship and Annie Harrison, two sisters, Sue Barie and Carla Blankenship and baby brother Jackie Lee Blankenship.
He is survived by the love of his life, Tasmine Austin;Sons, Jackie Harrison, Nick Harrison and Jason Austin; Daughters, Rebecca Cutshall and Kaydee Austin; Brother, Eugene Blankenship; Nephews, David and Clayton Blankenship; Niece, Mary Elaine Taylor;"Indian" also leaves behind 15 grandchildren as well as numerous close friends he considered family.
"Indian" will always be remembered for his love of motorcycles and his larger than life personality.
For close to 30 years, "Indian" played Santa at the annual Children's Christmas Charity by the BOTW.
He loved bringing joy to those children in need. This is but one example of his giving spirit.
A celebration of "Indian's" life will be held at the BOTW Club House on Cove Branch Road in Princeton on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 1:00 P.M.
The family has honored "Indian's" request that he be cremated.
