Robert C.'s Story
PRINCETON — Robert C. "Buck" Jones, 81, of Eads Mill Road, Princeton, died Monday, March 13, 2017 at Princeton Community Hospital with his family at his side.
Born August 24, 1935 in Princeton, Buck was the foster son of the late Edgar W. "Deacon" and Bessie Craft. He was a graduate of Princeton High School and Concord College. He worked for the WV Department of Human Resources, and he was later self-employed as a contractor and land developer, helping to establish JO-HO Estates and other properties. Buck helped to form Mid-South Casket Company, and he spent many years associated with Danieley Wrecker Company in Princeton.
He was a member of Melrose Community Church. In his spare time, Buck loved to spend time with his family, especially going to Smith Mountain Lake, fishing; hunting; tinkering and gardening.
Buck was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving as a Quartermaster in the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Kevin Jones and a brother Edgar W. Craft.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Dana Hogan Jones; two children, Teresa Lynn Lowe & husband Matt of Rich Creek, VA; Stephen Edgar Jones & wife Beth of Knightdale, NC; six grandchildren: Corey Lowe, Ethan Lowe, Ian Lowe, Benjamin Miller, Matthew Cales & Haley Cales; and many nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Buck Jones will be held 11 A.M. Thursday, March 16, 2017 in the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory, on the Athens Road in Princeton, with Pastor Richard Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with military honors given under the direction of the Mercer County Honor Guard.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ethan Lowe, Ian Lowe, Stuart Hill, David Hill Howard Hill, and John Scott, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Hill & Jack Danieley.
