SANDY RIDGE - Richard Levi Walker, Sr., 75, died Monday, February 6, 2017, at Universal Healthcare/King.
Mr. Walker was born May 27, 1941, in Mercer County, WV, to the late Paul Jones Walker and Arabella McKenzie Walker. He was a US Army veteran and former owner of Main Street Appliances.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Barbara Ann Smith Walker, and daughter, Tonya M. Walker.
Survivors include sons, Richard Walker, Jr. (Jana) and Shawn Walker; daughter, Angela McKirdy; sisters, Nita Ivey (Joe), Cynthia Osborn (Jack), Barbara Cochran (Carlos), Esther Cochran (Jerry) and Eva Lewis (Joe); two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 pm, Friday, at Colonial Funeral Home and all other times at his home.
The funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, February 10, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tim Gentry officiating. Interment will follow in the Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites provided by the North Carolina National Guard.
