Ray Richard Hodge, 71, of Narrows, VA, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Princeton Community Hospital. He was born September 18, 1945 at Freeman, WV, the son of the late Alex & Myrtle Worthington Hodge. He was a member of Narrows United Methodist Church. He worked for many years on the railroad and made many friends along the way. He loved to fish, when he was able, and was a jack of all trades and able to fix anything.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter & son-in-law, Jolanda (Jodi) & Jeffery Cheeks, Jr.; his granddaughter, Iris Cheeks; a brother & sister-in-law, Homer & Judy Hodge; a sister & brother-in-law, Connie & Lonnie Dunn; a very special friend, Terry Martin and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 12:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, with Rev. Wayne Monroe and Rev. Doug Armstrong officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A. M. until service time, 12:00 Noon. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.
