McHENRY, IL - Paul Horeluk, 89, of McHenry, Illinois, formerly of Chilhowee, Virginia, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 at JourneyCare Hospice of Barrington, Illinois with his family by his side. He was born July 22, 1928 in Keystone, West Virginia to John and Frances (Roman) Horeluk. He married the love of his life, Minnie Lambert, on September 18, 1950 in Bluefield, WV. Paul served proudly with the U.S. Army during peacetime after the Korean War had ended. He was a miner for over 30 years in the West Virginia coal mines. Paul enjoyed a long marriage with his true love Minnie, who was his wife of 66 years. He found great enjoyment in showering her with attention and affection.
Paul is survived by his three children, Ronnie (Barbara) Horeluk, Linda Horeluk-Rokusek, Wanda (Terry) Heidegger; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, his sister, Rosie (Joe) Lambert, and his brother, Roosevelt (Elaine) Horeluk.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife, Minnie on November 11, 2016, a grandson, Terry "T.J." Heidegger, and his great-grandson, Brandon Rigby on October 27, 2016.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where military honors will be conducted by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 15, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until service hour at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
