Paris's Story

PRINCETON — Paris George York, 90, of Princeton, died Thursday, February 2, 2017, at Mercer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bluefield. Born August 19, 1926, in Princeton he was the son of the late James Walter York and Sally Belcher York.
He retired from Pocahontas Central Shop and was formerly a coal miner with Consol Coal Company. Paris was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II where he served on the USS Baltimore. He was an avid motorcyclist and loved fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers.
Survivors include three sons, Patrick York and wife Kathy, Jody York, and Tracy York and fiancee Angie Harold, all of Princeton; two grandchildren, Ashley McDonald and Jamey York; one great-grandson, Khayman York; one sister, Beatrice Phillips of Beckley; and one brother, Ben York of Lynchburg, VA.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2017, at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Reverend Larry Dyer officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Military graveside rites will be provided by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
