Meadowview, Va.

Olive Patricia Earls Cordell, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on March 6, 2017 with her devoted family by her side.
Olive was 87 years old and a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church in Meadowview. She was well-known for her love of family and vivacious entrepreneurial attitude. Anything she set out to do, she did. Her accomplishments far surpassed wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a knack for antiquing, quilting, and doll-making where she won several blue ribbons and recognition throughout Southwest, Virginia. After raising her family, she obtained a GED, then completed an Associate's Degree in Education at Southwest Virginia Community College. Her achievements stretched far and wide where her dreams and aspirations became her countless achievements. She will be deeply missed by all of those who knew her. Her spirit will live in the hearts of the family members whom she touched so dearly.
Olive was preceded in death by her parents, Ennis Earls, Mary Louise Bandy, and Herman Grat Bandy; her sisters, Jean Shelley and Marie Atkinson.
She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Lynn Cordell Davis and her husband Gene of Meadowview, VA; her sons, Cylden Cornel Cordel and wife Barbara of Frankfurt, Germany, and Steven Anthony Cordell and his wife Brenda of Yorktown VA; four grandchildren; Jill Marie Davis Wood of Glade Spring, VA, Veronica Lynn Davis Quina of Abingdon, VA; Angelina Margitta Cordell of Frankfort, Germany, and Stephanie Amber Cordell of Minneapolis, MN; seven great-grandchildren, Victoria Rose Wood of Abingdon, Dustin Gene Wood of Johnson City, Brent Lawson Clifton of Abingdon, Andrew Gage Quina of Abingdon, Seciley Rayne Quina of Abingdon, and Paxton McKade Wood of Glade Spring; two sisters, Wanda Slaughter and Cecelia Laney, and many loving nieces and nephews.
