PRINCETON — Obie Clyde Parrish, 71, of Harmon Branch Road, Princeton died Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born May 14, 1945 in Princeton he was the son of the late William A. Parrish and Nellie Morris Parrish.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War and was a retired coal miner. Obie loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and especially loved horses.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Parrish; and one infant sister, Shirley Parrish.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila Reed Parrish of Princeton; three sons, Kevin W. Graham and wife Sarah of Oakvale, Dwight A. Graham and wife Alyssa of Wytheville, VA and Dr. Christopher D. Parrish and wife Lynn of Athens; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one sister, Nancy Humphreys and husband "Doc" of Red Sulphur, WV.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the G.E. Davis Chapel of Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale with Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakvale Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the service hour on Saturday.
