RICHMOND, VA - Naomi Foley Bowes, 92, of Richmond, VA, died Sunday, April 9, 2017. Born November 8, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John S. Foley, founder of the Matoaka Christian Church, and Dolly Ann Sneed Foley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers Hansel Foley, Phares Foley and Sylvester Foley; and two sisters, Frances Foley and Opal Stratton.
She was a Navy veteran of WWII and later became a charter member and field representative for the Women In Military Service for America (WIMSA) honoring women in all branches of service.
Survivors include one daughter Dreama "Dee" Bowes Wallace and husband Raymond of Maryland; one granddaughter Jennifer Wallace Ostendorf of Maryland; one great-grandson Aaron Ostendorf of Maryland; and several nephews and nieces.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2017 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton. Friends attending the service are asked to meet at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home at 10:45 a.m.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Matoaka Christian Church or Women's Memorial Foundation.
