Ms. Edith's Story
CEDAR BLUFF, Va. — Ms. Edith Rose, age 89, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 in Lebanon, Virginia following a brief illness.
She was born in Canebrake, West Virginia and was the daughter of the late Blair M. and Margie Lee Shelton Davis. She was a loving tender hearted person and was full of wisdom. Edith was of the Methodist faith had resided in the local area most of her life and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Shorty Garland Rose; her adopted son, Thomas Garland Rose; and one half brother, James Luther Shelton Davis.
She is survived by: Her adopted Grandson, Bradley Shawn Rose of Cedar Bluff, VA. Her sister, Elsie Horton of Cedar Bluff, VA. Her brothers: Melvin Davis and wife, Anella of Bricktown, N.J., Carl Perry Davis and wife, Shirley of Cedar Bluff, VA.
A graveside service for Edith Rose will be conducted Monday, January 23, 2017 at 2:00 pm in Mausoleum 4 at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, VA with Rev. Rick Whitt officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
