Mrs. Karen's Story
Mrs. Karen C. Dinsmore age 73, passed from this life into eternal life on Sunday morning, February 19, 2017 at CMC Hospital in Pineville, NC. Karen was born in Welch, West Virginia to the late Robert Vernon Charlton and Daisy Lee McNeil.
Karen was preceded in death by her father Robert Vernon Charlton, her mother and stepfather, Daisy Lee McNeil and Ambrose Nims McNeil and her beloved husband Dr. Harold "Pat" Dinsmore.
Survivors include her son Robert "Todd" Grubb and wife Susan of Rock Hill, SC, stepson David Dinsmore and wife Donna of Richardson, TX, three sisters, Sharon Wrenn of Bedford, VA, Glenna "Raye" Dowdy and husband Larry of Roanoke, VA and Glenda "Kaye" Middleton and husband Lee of Covington, VA, six grandchildren: Brandi Steadman, Brandon Grubb, Mariha "Chase" Gundy, Darbianna Dinsmore, Dana Dinsmore and Dawson Claude Dinsmore and five great grandchildren, Victoria Steadman, Melanie Steadman, Greyson Brown, Esabella Gundy and Zachary Gundy.
Mrs. Dinsmore had a very diverse career, including assistant to the hospital administrator for Charleston Area Medical Center, administrative assistant to one of West Virginia's Governors' and managed a gift shop at the Greenbriar Resort in later years. Karen and her late husband Dr. Harold "Pat" Dinsmore moved to Hilton Head Island, SC to enjoy their retirement years. She enjoyed spending endless hours in the sun and on the beach. She was a beloved Mother, Mother-in- Law, Sister, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was a dear friend to many.
There will be a private Memorial Service held for the family and close friends in the coming months. The Memorial Service will be held at her favorite place "The Beach".
