Michael "Harry"'s Story
Michael "Harry" Wayne Stilwell, age 58, of the Baptist Valley section of North Tazewell, VA, formerly of Bristol, TN passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 in Bristol, TN after following a brief illness.
Michael was born March 26, 1959 in Richlands, VA and was the son of the late James Slate and Virginia Naydell "Jean" Stilwell. He was a 1977 graduate of Tazewell High School and received a business degree at SVCC. He was the owner of Guns-R-Us in Bristol, TN and was the former store manager of Food Lion in Richlands, VA. Michael was a huge Cincinnati Reds Fan and Dallas Cowboy Fan. He lived most of his life in the Bristol and Baptist Valley areas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Hess Stilwell; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Squire and Rosa Stilwell; and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Slate.
He is survived by: His son: Tyler Clint Stilwell of Norton, VA. A host of aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and special little "side kick", Rosalyn Nicole Wix.
Funeral services for Michael Wayne Stilwell will be conducted Friday, June 23, 2017 at 7:00 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. J.C. Steele officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum of Claypool Hill, Virginia at 11:00 am on Saturday. Pallbearers will be: Clinton Hess, John Stilwell, Tony Stilwell, Mike Elkins, Harold Elkins, Harley White, James Sparks, Billy Messick, and Darrel Wix. Honorary pallbearers will be: Mike Hodge, Calvin Patton, Terry Lark and Scott Bolen.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 at the funeral home.
