Mary Margaret's Story
PRINCETON — Mary Margaret Panashy Tanner, 90, of Princeton died Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.
Born September 27, 1926 in McDowell County she was the daughter of the late Matthew Panashy and Mildred Wells Panashy. She was a graduate of Princeton High School.
Mary was retired from the Dietary Department of Glenwood Park Retirement Village, was a former beautician, and formerly employed at Maidenform in Princeton. She was a member of the Advent Christian Church in Princeton and a former member of the Valley Women's Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Dalton Tanner; two sisters, Betty Fraley and Joann Hall; and three brothers, Philip Panashy, Matthew Panashy and Freddie Panashy.
Survivors include one son, Mike Tanner and wife Patsy of Hickory, NC; one daughter, Melissa Musick and husband Grady of Princeton; five grandchildren, Patrick Tanner, Randall Cox and wife Jackie, Nathan Smith, Courtney Smith, and Steve Musick; one great granddaughter, Karleigh Overstreet; and three sisters, Freda Swim of Princeton, Linda Lou LeGlaire of Los Angeles, CA, and Carol French and husband Tracy of Princeton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Rob Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
