Mary Louise's Story
Mary Louise Broyles Lane, age 96 passed away peacefully at Grace Healthcare, Abingdon, Virginia on December 24, 2016.
She was the daughter of the late George and Josephine Thompson Broyles. Louise was an amazing lady, cherished by family and friends. She was a long time resident of Monroe County, West Virginia, and later Princeton, West Virginia. In 1998 Louise relocated to Blountville, Tennessee to make her home with her daughter Shirley, and husband Clinton Goad.
Louise was preceded in death by her first husband Frank Owen Belcher, second husband Charlie Lane. Sons Teddy Joe Belcher and Frank Owen Belcher, Jr. Son-in-law Jack Buckland. Five brothers, Lamar, Lacy, Leonard, Lonnie, and Eldridge. Six sisters, Margaret, Bessie, Bertie, Ada, Willie, and Juanita. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Louise is survived by her daughter Shirley Belcher Goad, and husband Clinton of Blountville, TN. Daughter-in-law Nancy Ellison Belcher of Knoxville, Tennessee, Barbara Brown Sweeny of Elliston, Virginia. Stepsons Don Lane and wife Nancy of Roanoke, Virginia, Ronnie Lane of Princeton, West Virginia, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Tuesday December 27, 2016, at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, West Virginia with Rev. John Rinehart and Rev. Clinton Goad officiating. Burial will follow at the Orchard Cemetery, Ballard, WV. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with burial following at Orchard Cemetery in Ballard, West Virginia. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
