SPEEDWAY — Mark H. Traylor, 59, of the Brush Creek Falls Road, Speedway died suddenly Thursday afternoon, March 2, 2017 at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born May 25, 1959 in Charleston, he was the son of the late Stanley E. "Gene" Traylor and Julia Nelson Traylor.
Mark was a graduate of Ripley High School in Ripley, received his associate degree in Drafting Designs and his Bachelor's degree in Industrial Management from WV Institute of Technology. In 1990, Mark began his career with Appalachian Log Structures in Princeton. He served as plant manager until 2015, when his health forced him to retire. He was a member of the Lerona United Methodist Church.
Mark was a great cook, loved fishing, playing his guitar and spending time with his horses and farm animals. He was an avid WVU Mountaineer fan.
Mark was a devoted husband and father and loved being a grandpa.
Those left to cherish his memory, his caring wife of 36 years, Sherry Lynn Chapman Traylor; Two children: Lindsay Traylor Muncy & husband Dwane of Beckley; Christopher Mark Traylor of Princeton: the love of his heart, his two grandsons, Beckett and Gavin. Three siblings: Stanley Traylor II & wife Lois of Wheeling, John Traylor & wife Julia of Hilton Head, SC, Amy Traylor Vickers & husband Barry of Charleston; His mother-in-law, Helen E. Harper of Hurricane; Sisters-in-law: Debora Pauley of Hurricane, Linda Sadler & husband Jeff of S. Charleston.
On Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. we will celebrate the life of Mark Traylor from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors David White and Mike Frank officiating.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the service hour at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 2:45 PM at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens near Charleston, those wishing to attend are requested to meet at the cemetery.
