BLUEFIELD, Va. — Mark Hill, 60, of Bluefield, VA (Abbs Valley), passed away Thursday, March 02, 2017 at his home. Born on February 14, 1957 in Bluefield, WV he was the son of the late Jackson Burton and Zena Lorraine Smith Hill.
Mark graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1975. He was employed as an insurance salesman.
Mark was one of a kind. He loved the Lord, attended church as often as possible and ministered to all he came across. He enjoyed singing at area churches and with the Old Geezers. Mark loved all of his family and loved family get togethers. Mark enjoyed a good meal. Mark was a self proclaimed bass expert and could slay the trout. His favorite fishing spots were at Daniel Stowers' and Wolfe Creek with his "brother" Bill. Mark was quick witted and a pro at sarcasm. He had a sense of humor and could tell a joke like no other. Mark was loved by many and will be missed more than words!!
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one sister Glenna Marie Hill.
Survivors include his wife Jane Hill of the home; children Jessica O'Neil and husband Chris of Fredericksburg, VA, Raymond Jackson Hill and companion Jessica Davis of Leckie, WV, James Belcher and wife Garnet of NC and Bobby Belcher and wife Debbie of NC; sisters, Sue Clark and husband Sam of Bluefield, WV, Sharon Murphy and husband Bill of Abbs Valley, VA, Deborah Fisher and husband Larry of Maryland and Dianne Stowers and husband Stephen of Maryland; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hill, Tierra Raye Hill, and Ethan Edward Hill of Delaware, Christian and Bella O'Neil, Daniel Belcher, Laura Beth Harrison, Kristen Belcher and Jeremiah Belcher; great grandchildren, Lacy, Jenson, Austin, Caleb, Fionna, Tristan and Eben; nieces Lori Caldwell, Tracie Epperson, Sarah Collier, Kriston Whiltsey, LeAnn Stowers and Suzanne Faircloth; nephews, Burton Clark, Stephen Stowers II and Daniel Clark; many aunts, uncles, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to list.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, VA. Friends may call three hours prior to the service. Mark will later be cremated according to his wishes.
