Marcelle's Story

Ms. Marcelle E. Danforth, 91, of Salisbury passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks in Salisbury.
She was born December 22, 1925 in Bandy, VA to the late Emory C. Harrison and the late Anna L. "Nan" Lambert Harrison.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands: A.J. Wheeler and Paul Danforth; and her twin brothers: Emory G. Harrison of Wytheville, VA and Billy D. Harrison of Bluefield, VA.
She is survived by her only child, Rodger W. Wheeler of Salisbury, NC; one grandson Wm. Blake Wheeler of Gallatin, TN; sister-in-law Ann Thompson Harrison of Wytheville, VA; special nieces of Debbie Sue Harless of Bluefield, VA: Cindy Wilkinson of Wytheville, VA and Christi Armbrister of Mary Ester, FL; as well as the extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins.
I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to the Nurses, CNA's and Staff at Trinity Oaks Health & Rehab for the excellent care they gave my Dear Mother. I would also like to thank Mrs. Mildred McGee, her roommate for the past 2 years, for her caring concern for my Mom. They complimented each other very well as roommates. Mother also made many good friends while spending the last two years there.
My Mother was a long time resident of Bluefield, WV until moving to Salisbury, NC in 2003. She had been employed by Goodykoontz Drug Store in Bluefield, WV for 50 years as a Cosmetics Manager, retiring in 2000. She lived with her son Rodger for 15 years and then the last 2 years at the Trinity Oaks Health & Rehab.
Memorial Service: 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Trinity Oaks Health & Rehab, 728 Klumac Road, Salisbury, NC 28144.
A graveside service will be held at Grandview Memory Gardens at a later date. Grandview Memory Gardens is located at 38659 Gov. G C Peery Hwy, Bluefield, VA 24605.
