Luna Lue's Story
ORLANDO, Fla. — Luna Lue Burks Richardson 89 of Orlando, FL, formerly of McDowell and Wyoming County, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Courtyards Nursing Home in Orlando. Born May 25, 1927 in Hensley, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ballard Burks and Nora England Burks.
Luna was a member of the Metro West Church of the Nazarene in Orlando and resided in Florida for the past 56 years.
Other than her parents, Luna was preceded in death by her husband, William Richardson. Four infant siblings. Three daughters: Nora Curtis, Deborah Eanes and Susan Strickland. Six sisters: Georgia Morgan, Glenna Whitaker, Wanda Hess, Tempa Green, Myrtle England and Princess Burks. Three brothers: Conley, Calvin and Earl Burks.
Survivors include: one daughter, Sylvia Honeycutt of Kissimmee, FL, two sons, Billy Joe Richardson and wife Delores and Roy Dean Richardson and wife Barbara all of Orlando, FL. Two sisters: Nola Whittaker of Welch, WV. and Susan Meadows of Princeton, WV. One brother, Earl Burks of Kimball, WV. Luna was also blessed with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Also, a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Services will be conducted Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 1: PM at the Widener Funeral Home Chapel in Northfork, WV, with Rev. Eric Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Burks Cemetery on Burke Mountain.
Friends may call Saturday from 11: AM until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
