Lottie Jeanette's Story

OAKWOOD, Va. — Lottie Jeanette White Yates, 85 years of age of Oakwood, VA, received her Heavenly Home, Thursday, January 5, 2017 in Clinch Valley Medical Center, Richlands, VA. Born July 18, 1931 in Lex, WV, she was the daughter of the late Starling White and Millie Jane Street White.
Lottie was a member of Trinity Pentecostal Church, loved going to church until her health failed her, and gardening. Her passion was her family and her love for the Lord. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clayton Johnny Yates, sons Robbie Beacher Yates, Elmer Franklin Yates, daughter Jacqueline (Jackie) Vandyke, and sister Rose Helton and brother Lincoln White.
Survivors include her daughters Star Lena Bishop and husband Tom of Rocky Gap, VA, Rebecca Street and husband Mike of Richlands, VA; sons Ronnie Clayton Yates and wife Tammy and Donnie R. Yates and wife Elizabeth all of Oakwood, VA; sister Ethel Mae Smith of Rosedale, VA; grandsons raised as her sons Dusty Yates and wife Melanie of Richlands, VA and Zach Rusty Yates and girlfriend Brianna Vance Oakwood, VA.
She is also survived by her grandchildren Hollie Yates Stiltner and husband Coty of Knoxville, TN, Clay Yates of Bristol, VA, Michael John Street and wife Allison of Richlands, VA, Josh Street and fiance' Autum Vandyke of Richlands, VA, Mandy Fuller and husband Justin of Abingdon, VA, Tara Hurt and husband Brandon of Richlands, VA; great-grandchildren Tyler and Destanie Star of Richlands, VA.
Funeral service for Lottie Jeanette White Yates will be conducted at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Sunday, January 8 , 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Shannon Justice, Reverend Jim Clark and Reverend Tim Lester officiating. Burial will follow in the Yates Family Cemetery on Deskins Road, Vansant, VA.
Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family will receive friends at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Sunday, from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m.
