Lola B. Steele, 94, of Princeton, peacefully passed away July 3, 2017 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Wyoming County, WV on January 27, 1923. She was the daughter of the late Pierson and Ida Lester Green.
Lola was very versatile in life, she enjoyed canning, an avid gardener, quilting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, and sewing. In her younger years she managed a store on Conner Mountain, worked with the first Headstart program in the county, worked for the Post Office and sold Avon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman J. Steele, daughter, Sybil Browning; brothers, Dale Green and Paul Green; sisters, Lorraine Green, Bea Green, Verna Brunty, and Verla Bishop.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Denton of Princeton, Kay Siner and husband, Jerry of Princeton, Tammy Reed and husband, Corey of Roanoke, VA; grandchildren, Kelly Siner, Jodi Conner, Casey Collier, Christopher Browning; great-grandchildren, Tiffany Spriggs Walsh, Channing Conner, Graeson Conner, London Collier, Holston Collier, and Cruistan Reed; brothers, Charlie Green and Larry Green; sisters, Betty Stigall, Carrie Hylton and Kathy Scott; many nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Lola B. Steele will be held 1:00PM Friday, July 7, 2017 at Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Steele officiating. Following the services Lola will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Sherman at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton.
Friends may gather with the family from 12:00PM until time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
