Lola's Story

NORTHFORK — Lola Jane Porterfield 77 of Northfork Hollow, Northfork, WV, formerly of Big Four, WV, went to be with the Lord Saturday, February 4, 2017 at her residence after a short illness with her family by her side. Born May 13, 1939 in Big Four, she was the daughter of the late Victoria Day.
Lola , better known as Jane of Big Four, was affiliated with the Holiness Faith. Jane was a homemaker, the owner of Jane's restaurant in Keystone with her husband Orban and her son. She also worked at Peerless Laundry, the Dairy Queen and the LVA Literacy Program being office manager for LVA and the Green Thumb Corporation in Princeton, WV. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and lived in McDowell County all her life.
Other than her mother, Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Orban R. Porterfield, two sisters: Mrs. Thelma Belcher and Mrs. Bonnie Collins. Four infant brothers and one infant sister. Nephew Donnie Sizemore and niece Kathy Brown.
Leaving to cherish her memory are one son: Samuel Porterfield and wife Sherry of Northfork, granddaughters: Kira Triplett and husband Alex of Northfork, Felicity Auville and husband Eddie of Northfork and Heather Browning and husband Kevin of Gilbert. Grandson Justin Porterfield and wife Stacy of Belcher Mtn. Great-grandchildren: Brooklynn Triplett, Cadence Auville, Addisyn Porterfield, Devin Porterfield, Aiden Porterfield, Mckayla Browning and Blake Goins. One sister, Dorothy Lane and husband Tracy of Montcalm and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Services will be conducted Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 12: Noon at the Widener Funeral Home Chapel in Northfork, WV, with the Rev. Omar Burns officiating. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, WV.
Friends may call Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 6 until 8: PM at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Gardale Porterfield, Eddie Auville, Alex Triplett, Junior Brown, Lyle Day and Donald Day.
