ROANOKE, Va. — Larry Wayne Mitchell, 57, of Patterson Avenue, Roanoke VA, formerly of McDowell County died Friday, March 31, 2017 at his residence.
Born July 7, 1959 at Welch, he was the son of Anzie Sanders Mitchell of Princeton and the late Arthur Mitchell.
Larry was a graduate of Iaeger High School and VoTech Center, earning his certificate for welding.
Growing up Larry enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his friends.
While his health permitted, Larry was a welder for the N & W Railroad in Roanoke VA. He was of the Baptist faith.
Larry was an outgoing individual, devoted to his family and friends.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sheila Gadley.
Those left to cherish his memory, his mother Anzie Mitchell of Princeton, his wife Tammy Vanessa Wilson Mitchell of Roanoke VA, One daughter, Jessica Mitchell, two step sons who he loved dearly, William David Kirby & Anthony Shawn Kirby, one granddaughter, Ailyanna Sparks. Two siblings: Linda Patsey & husband Frank of Kingsport TN, Geve Lynn Strock & husband Nicky of Roanoke VA, brother in law, Gary Gadley of PA. A host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Arble Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family Tuesday from Noon until the service hour at the funeral home.
