La'Keisha's Story

Text size

La'Keisha Lashar Robinson, 24, of Bluefield, WV went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 5, 2017.
La'Keisha was born on June 1, 1993 in Bluefield, WV to William and Remona Robinson. She graduated from Bluefield High School in 2011 and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a GPA of 4.2 from Marshal University, majoring in Criminal Justice & Psychology in 2016. She was employed by Value City and Wal-Mart Pharmacy in Huntington, WV and was in the process of furthering her education in the study of law.
La'Keisha had a zest for life and was beautiful inside and out. She enjoyed reading her bible and she loved her family, including her beloved dog, Olivia. She was always quick to laugh and loved making faces at her brother. Her favorite color was red and she never missed the chance to sing her favorite song, "Wifey", with her daddy every time she heard it playing. She had a passion for cooking and would spend time on the phone with her mother sharing recipes and chatting until she was finished cooking her meal.
La'Keisha was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandparents, Paternal Grandfather, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Left to cherish her memories are her parents, William and Remona Robinson of the home; along with her brothers, Kwame Gravely of Princeton, WV and William Robinson III of Corsicana, Texas; paternal grandmother, Virginia Robinson of Bluefield, WV; God mother, Kathy Napper of Bluefield, WV; special friends, Lisa Brooks and Josie Taxley; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and loved ones.
Our loss is Heaven's gain. We will forever remember and cherish twenty-four years of happiness, love, laughter and smiles we shared with La'Keisha.
Funeral service for La'Keisha will be held Friday, October 13, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the Greater Mount Zion Pentecostal Church, 104 Park St. Bluefield, WV with Reverend Earl Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends and relatives prior to the service from 11:00 - 12:00 at the church.
La'Keisha's family would like to thank everyone for all the prayers, food, monetary gifts and your outpouring of love. With special thanks to Bishop Clarence Moore, the congregation of Mount Zion Pentecostal Church and the McConnell Funeral Home.
