Kathryn Joan's Story
TAZEWELL, Va. — Kathryn Clarke, 65 of Tazewell, VA was healed and reunited with her precious family and loving God on Friday, January 13, 2017. Born October 28, 1951 in Cedar Bluff, VA where she was raised, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Janie Davis. She lived many years in Fayetteville, NC and Columbus, GA, then returned home in 1996.
She was a blessed mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and dear friend to many; also unique, strong willed, stubborn, and a rebel by nature. She was unapologetically Kathy right up till the end. Ms. Clarke was plagued with illness and unable to freely walk for years; today, she suffers no longer. She is free at last and finally with her family whom she missed every single moment.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two beautiful sisters whom she loved dearly, Dena Gail Smith and Bonita Sue Davis; one granddaughter who was waiting for her, Alycia Kayte Walker; last but NEVER least, her "hunny bunny" Mary Kate Amey who was not just an aunt but was a second mother to her.
She is survived by her baby brother, James "Jymbeau" Davis of Bristol, TN; daughters, Kimberly Walker and husband, Gary of Bluefield, VA and Brandi Beavers-Todd and husband, Bruce of Roanoke, VA; four granddaughters, Tory Miller and husband, Jamie of Salem, VA, Chelsea Taylor and husband, Jerome of Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, Malayna Beavers-Todd and Keely Beavers-Todd both of Roanoke, VA; two great granddaughters, Anna Grace Miller and Anorah Sinclair Taylor; two beloved nieces and nephews, their families and cousins from Virginia, Ohio, and Colorado; many friends in Virginia, North Carolina, Delaware, and Georgia all of whom she loved so very much.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA where funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM with the Reverend Dennis McLemore officiating.
