ROANOKE, VA. — Karen Weaver Nabors passed away peacefully on Friday, March 24, 2017, in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born in Tazewell, Va., on July 2, 1943, Karen lived for many years in Bluefield, Va. and then in Roanoke, Va. She worked as a medical transcriptionist at the Orthopedic Center of the Virginias in Princeton and also at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Ruby Helen Weaver; sister Rochelle Weaver DIckenson; brother Steven Weaver; and former husband, Jack Lawson II.
Karen is survived by her son Jack Lawson III. (Maggie) of Roanoke; her daughter Karra Beth Nabors of Newport News; grandson Jackson Lawson of Roanoke; brother Roger Weaver (Carol) of Tazewell; and brother Rick Weaver (Susie) of Christiansburg. She is also survived by her former husband Bill Nabors of Bluefield, eight nephews and nieces, and many cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
