Justin D.'s Story
BLUEFIELD — Justin D. "Dusty" Gray, 37, of Bluefield, died March 31, 2017 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born April 22, 1979 in Bluefield he was the son of Janna Hamilton Gray of Bluefield, VA and the late James Douglas Gray, Sr.
Dusty was a graduate of Graham High School playing on the football state championship team. He was also a graduate of Southwest Virginia Community College and attended Bluefield State College. He was formerly employed in the Automotive Department at Sam's Warehouse in Bluefield, VA and was a former Counselor at Southern Highlands in Princeton.
Dusty was an avid Graham High School fan and was heavily involved in youth sports. He coached AAU Basketball and the Chargers football team.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Clarence and Martha Hollie Gray; and maternal grandfather, Robert Hamilton.
Additional survivors include his wife, Mina Michelle Bennett Gray of Charlotte, NC; two daughters, Kayla Gray and Alisha Gray both of Bluefield; five sons, Ty Gray of Bluefield, Isaiah Bennett of Bishop, VA, Noah Bennett of Charlotte, NC, Tyrell Sayles and Adderius Jackson both of Bluefield; one grandchild, Jayveon Huckleberry; one brother, James Douglas "Jay" Gray, II and wife Sonja of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Tramaine Nichole "Nikki" Hairston and husband Deshawn of Bluefield, VA; his grandmother (that he adored), Maggie Palmer Hamilton of Bluefield, VA; special friend, Keisha Hanley of Bluefield; four nieces, Ja'Nise Lanier, Ta'Lease Potter, Kiann Potter, and Jamia Hairston; and former wife, Kimberly Eskut of Huntington, WV.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church in Bluefield with Rev. Todd French officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Park Cemetery in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call at the church from 11:00 AM until the service hour on Saturday.
