Juanita's Story

BLUEFIELD, Va. — Juanita Forrest Trigg lovingly known as "Neet", began her journey in life on January 6, 1925. She was born to the late Nina Forrest Valentine and raised by her loving grandparents the late Isabel & Columbus Forrest. In November of 1941 she was joined in holy matrimony with longtime friend Anglis Trigg, with whom she made a home and built a family for over 49 years.
Juanita attended public schools in Tazewell County and graduated from Graham Colored High School in 1943. She has been a faithful member of Bethel United Methodist Church for over 80 years, where she served on the usher board. She was also an active member of the Busy Bee Social Club. Juanita has held various part-time jobs, however she dedicated the majority of her life caring for her children, grandchildren, family members, as well as children in the neighborhood through Trigg Family Day Care. On January 30, 2017, Juanita transitioned to eternal glory after a sudden illness.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents; mother; beloved husband Anglis Trigg Sr.; sons Brian Trigg and Rudolph Trigg Sr; daughter Angela Trigg Bane; and brother Rudolph Valentine.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons Anglis Trigg Jr. and wife Linda as well as David Trigg Sr. and wife Viesta of Bluefield, Virginia; 12 grandchildren Dee Dee, Keith Sr. (Heidi), Lori, Kerry, David Jr. (Celesteual), Judith (Cheston), Jacenta, Rudolph Jr., Traci (Will), Valerie (Duane), Andria (Thomas), and Jackson (Missy); 25 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; maternal cousins Geraldine Palmer, Nancy Grayson, and Bobby Bratton; special friend Gaynell Adams, as well as host of nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends.
Funeral Services entrusted to the care of Mercer Funeral Home. Services will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church Saturday, February 4, 2017. Visitation- 10:00AM-12:00PM. Funeral- 12:00PM. Grave site services will be held at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
