JOHN TYLER's Story
John Tyler Hayes, Sr., 69 of Bluefield, VA, passed away and went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 25, 2017.
John, affectionately known as "Jabber", was born on September 27, 1947 to the late Margie Hayes of Bluefield, VA. As a young man, John was in the Army and after became an Electrician in the coal mines.
John gained employment at Bluefield Manufacturing in 1985 where he worked until his retirement in 2015.
John was an avid fan of NASCAR and faithfully cheered for Darrell Waltrip and Jeff Gordon.
In addition to his mother, John was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Hayes, sister, Gail Scott and niece, Tina Hayes.
John is survived by his sons, John Hayes, Jr. and wife, Angie of Rocky Gap, VA and Michael Hayes and wife, Jordan of Charleston, WV. John is, with the fondest of loving memories, also survived by seven grandchildren, Carson Hayes, Michael Hayes, Brittany Osborne, Georgia Hayes, Brittany Murray, Kayla Poletti, and Christopher Martin. John also had three precious great grandchildren, McKenna Hollis, Waylon Hayes, and Trent Poletti. Additionally, John is survived by his brother Larry Hayes and wife, Donita of Danville, WV, sisters, Melissa Hayes Payne and Teresa Hayes of Bluefield, VA, and many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
John wished to be cremated and a small service will be held to honor his life at Dudley Memorial Mortuary on May 27, 2017 at 1:00pm with the Rev Buck Hagerman. Friends may visit from noon until the hour of service.
